ABOUT US We are Akatarawa Valley residents and live on 84 hectares which we are converting to a conservation area. Like many New Zealanders we are passionate about the great outdoors especially our unique "patch" and we are enthusiastic to share this with you.
Akatrack started in 2005 with a one day self guided walk, the walk was extended in 2006 to two days with the inclusion of the Miro track. In 2007 a short walk on our property to Aroha Falls was added. In 2008 we built a self contained cottage for our walkers. It is also available as a B&B. The Akatrack experience is that uniquely New Zealand wilderness experience- "the tramp" -but with comfortable beds and hot showers, wonderful meals and no heavy pack to carry!
